‘Life Wide Open’ city’s new brand

A discussion over lunch has turned into the city of Hastings’ new cooperative marketing strategy.

Sherma Jones, owner and creative director of the Idea Bank, unveiled the city’s new brand “Life Wide Open” Tuesday at The Lark in downtown Hastings. The brand was presented first to members of the media in the afternoon and later to business and community leaders, who packed the Lark for the gala event that evening.

“This endeavor actually started a couple years ago … ,” Jones told members of the media, “with a lunch date I had with Kaleena Fong (executive director) of the Adams County Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB). She had a need but she knew her need wasn’t isolated.”
