Cozad native to become new CVB director

The Adams County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau board of directors has been anxious to find a candidate for the organization’s next executive director who would continue the momentum sustained by current director Kaleena Fong.

And they think they found one in Cozad native Sheana Smith.

“We wanted to find someone who could start where Kaleena left off and bring a similar energy to the position,” said Becky Matticks, director of the Hastings Museum and CVB board member. “Sheana is that kind of person.”

The CVB advertised for the position and received 15 applications over a 30-day period prior to interviewing Smith.

Smith, 28, graduated from Cozad High School and earned her bachelor’s degree in exercise science from the University of Nebraska at Kearney and her master’s degree in sports administration from Wichita State University.
