Storm leaves 'a mess' in Edgar

Grain lies scattered after grain bins in central Edgar
were severely damaged by an unconfirmed tornado
Monday evening.

EDGAR — Edgar residents are recovering from the devastation wrought by an unconfirmed tornado that ravaged the area Monday evening.

Tree branches and uprooted trees littered the town. Smaller buildings were damaged or crumpled.

Power lines were leaning or snapped in the area, especially on the south end of the town. The south part of town bore the brunt of the storm.

One house had major damage as a tree was thrown onto it. Nine houses had minor damage, and 20 others were affected by flying debris.
