HHS tennis places third at own invite


Admittedly, first-year head coach Derek Williams thought his Hastings High girls tennis team had a slow start to the spring season.

After tinkering a few things, like switching up the doubles teams, the Tigers are starting to get things together and that showed with their performance at their own invite on Thursday.

HHS placed third out of seven teams with 22 points, as Hannah Knapp won the No. 2 singles division and Sydney Landell and Kathleen Bartunek combined to win No. 2 doubles.

“Actually, this was a really good day for everyone I thought,” Williams said.
