The St. Cecilia boys golf team picked the right time to start playing its best golf of the year.
As the golf season is winding down, the Bluehawks won their own invite on Thursday by shooting their lowest score of the year, a 330.
“It feels really good in the sense that it’s our best score of the year,” said STC head coach Randy Ahrens. “We come out in not necessarily great conditions — it was pretty cold and windy early on — and for us to hang on and shoot the best score of the year, that’s the best part because we want to build on our invite, conference, districts and hopefully state. That was a big step for us today.”
Thayer Central finished second as a team with a 337. Adams Central placed fifth with a 359, and Sandy Creek was sixth (378).
