HHS third at GNAC meet

Hastings High's Josh Hinrichs tees off on hole No. 5 during
the Greater Nebraska Athletic Conference meet Friday at
Lochland Country Club.

The one-stroke nightmare hit the Tiger boys golf team once again.

For the third consecutive meet, HHS missed an opportunity by one shot — this time it kept them from earning second place at the Greater Nebraska Athletic Conference meet Friday at Lochland Country Club.

The Tigers placed third with a team score of 328, while North Platte was second with a 327. McCook took home the team title with a score of 319.

"This is just something that we've talked about all season long, whether it's been individually or collectively as a group — every single stroke matters," said HHS head coach Bryan Vetter, whose team placed second by just one stroke at both its own and St. Cecilia's invite for the last two outings. "That's golf. Our kids know that and they know every stroke counts. We try to think about that every time we go out."
