Soccer teams in familiar territory

Hastings High celebrates its Class B-5 district championship
May 4 in York.

The Hastings High boys and girls soccer teams will resume a familiar trend this week when they travel to Omaha to square off in Class B state soccer tournament play.

For the boys, the trip represents their fifth straight in the state tournament and sixth appearance in seven seasons. For the girls, it is the seventh straight time they’ve qualified.

Hastings is one of the just three schools in Class B that is represented with both boys and girls teams at state. Over the last five years, Hastings is the only school to have boys and girls team at state each year.
