Life Before the Tribune: I was in college. In addition to taking classes, I gave tours to potential students, spent a short stint working at Target and a summer cleaning houses for rich people in Omaha.
Favorite color: Blue
Favorite food: The chicken fried steak with lots of gravy from Bernardos. I love that stuff.
Favorite (workday) drink: Dr. Pepper. I don’t do newsroom coffee.
If you won the lottery what would you do? I’d take at least a month off to take a European tour. I’d still work though. I don’t want to get bored and lazy at home.
Do you need glasses to read? I’m so blind I couldn’t read this without glasses. If I didn’t have them, there would be nose prints all over my screen.
Your Super power? Making people spill their guts, not literally, just figuratively, even when I’m not trying.
Grrr: Fake people, hypocrites, people who complain too much, oh and trees that hang in the sidewalk. I always think they’re out to get me.
Wish from a Genie: A cure for all types of cancer.
Best thing ever: Imagination, the ability to dream and those who can write about the places and worlds that inspire me.
Person dead or alive you'd like to interview and why?If I interviewed Michaelango, I’d want to know how he didn’t get cramps in his neck or at least his wrist when he was painting the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. Oh and how long did he wait before he got down to go to the bathroom or got food.
I’d also like to interview Lee Harvey Oswald just to ask him one question. Did you act alone?
I’m the youth and education reporter. That basically means if there’s anything in Hastings or Adams County including cute kids, smart kids or schools that sounds like it would make an interesting story, I’m probably there. Of course, I also cover other random stories as need be but I spend most of my day with kids.
