Bernard F. 'Ben' Hueske
Bernard (Ben) Frank Hueske was born at the family farm home near Hastings, Nebraska, on October 20, 1917. Ben passed on in his sleep on April 23, 2012, while under Hospice care at Salem Lutheran Home in Oakland, CA. Ben was preceded in death by his wife, V. Beverly Hueske on Aug. 30, 2010.

Hastings resident Sharon Dianne McDuffie, 63, formerly of Breckenridge, Texas, died Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at her home.

Gene V. Chapin
Gene V. Chapin, 84, of Lebanon, Kan., died Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday with military rites at North Oak Creek Cemetery, south of Lebanon, with the Rev. Lance McDowell officiating. Arla L. Zabel
Arla Louise Zabel, the daughter of Melvin E. Shultz and Veda (Olzon), was born December 25, 1928, in Fairbury, NE. She passed from this life on Friday, May 17, 2013, at the Blue Valley Lutheran Care Home in Hebron, Nebraska, at the age of 84 years. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at the United Methodist Church in Davenport. Visitation will be Monday, May 20 from 12 to 8 p.m. with family receiving friends from 4-6 p.m. at Urbauer-Price Funeral Home in Davenport, NE. Interment will be at the Davenport City Cemetery.
