Hastings Red Cross office may close
In an effort to address "significant financial challenges during the next three years," the American Red Cross is reducing its number of community chapters across the nation from 495 to 300, the nonprofit announced in a recent letter sent to volunteers by CEO Gail McGovern.

Services are 2:30 p.m. Friday at Butler Volland Chapel in Hastings with Rev. Dr. Lee R. Wigert officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. Visitation is 1-8 p.m. Thursday with family present from 5-7 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
