While the snow emergency in the city of Hastings expired at noon Tuesday, the Adams County Emergency Management director advises motorists to use caution as streets and roads are still slick, making travel hazardous.
Ron Pughes, emergency management director, said road crews worked diligently on clearing the roadways following this weekend's snow event. They were forced to clear and re-clear many of the same roadways multiple times, Pughes said.
"We appreciate all of the city, county and Department of Transportation efforts and long hours battling the relentless drifts and snow-covered roadways," Pughes said.
The snow emergency was put into effect at 7 p.m. Sunday.
