Downtown celebrates Halloween


Without getting too close, Isaac Russell, 4, and Lyla Russell,
2, check out the giant inflatable jack-o-lantern while trick-
or-treating downtown Wednesday afternoon.

Shouts of "Trick or treat" and laughter were heard downtown as kids and their parents collected candy from local businesses.

Sunny and warm conditions drew a big crowd to the Downtown Center Association's annual downtown trick-or-treating from 3-5 p.m. Wednesday.

Jack the Giant Talking Pumpkin made jokes as people passed by or stopped to take pictures with him.

"He's huge!" Kira Ahlers of Hastings said.
Her sister, Jennifer Ahlers, added that a talking pumpkin is cool, but she was there for the candy.
