5 retain seats on HPS board
Hastings Public School board will remain intact following the election of all five incumbents in Tuesday’s election.
Jim Boeve, Laura Schneider, Jessica Meeske, Brent Gollner and Matt Pershing retained their respective seats in the six-person race, edging out candidate Steven Marvel by less than 1,000 votes. Marvel received 13.04 percent of the vote, narrowly missing the cut by three percentage points to Boeve, Meeske and Gollner. Schneider and Pershing led all voters, garnering 18 percent of the vote each.
“I’m excited for the next four years,” Schneider said. “I’m looking forward to serving the people.”
