Holy Land film 'better than going there'

Daniel Deffenbaugh, Hastings College religion professor,
shares background information on the city of Jerusalem
before the screening of the film, "Jerusalem," at Hastings
Museum Tuesday night.

A story 5,000 years in the telling will be unfurled Friday afternoon in Hastings.

"Jerusalem," a giant-screen film by National Geographic Entertainment, opens for its exclusive run in Nebraska through June 3 at the Hastings Museum.

The film takes audience members on a personal journey through the Holy Land given by three young women who call the city home. The extraordinary footage contained in the film includes aerial shots from 500 feet above the city, something that hasn't been allowed in the strict no-fly zone region for more than a quarter century.
