Locals respond to election results

Raised glasses clinked as Barack Obama supporters toasted one another Tuesday night over the president’s re-election.

“The good man won,” said Brent Hultine of Hastings, who was celebrating with a crowd at Winestyles in downtown Hastings.

Cheers and laughter greeted the news that Obama had obtained the 270 electoral votes needed to win the election.

Hannah Keen of Hastings said she was glad Obama was re-elected as she watched the results at Winestyles.

“I wouldn’t have insurance without Obamacare,” she said. “I feel that should be a right as a citizen.”

But not everyone was happy with the news of Obama’s re-election.
