Clay Center day care expects to move next week

CLAY CENTER — The director of the day care currently housed at the Clay Center Christian Church here is expecting to relocate next week to the new home for the day care’s three programs.

A new home for the South Central Learning Center, formerly known as Little Blessings, was needed because of the growth of the program during its five years of existence, all at the Clay Center Christian Church north of town.

An increasing number of regulations added to the government food subsidy program also led to the church’s decision to separate itself from the day care.

SCLC director Irene Timms said Tuesday the day care is waiting on the third of three state inspections needed to move.
