Firearm charge bound over

A 19-year-old Kenesaw man accused of being a felon with a firearm waived his preliminary hearing Thursday as part of a plea deal.

Jesse C. Porterfield agreed to plead guilty or no contest to possession of a firearm by a prohibited person. He waived his preliminary hearing Thursday and allowed the case to be bound over to the Adams County District Court.

In exchange for his waiver and plea, prosecutors agreed to recommend the minimum sentence of three years in prison and concurrent time with his current prison sentence.
