After spending a year in Israel, Chad Dumas of Hastings found he really enjoyed eating hummus.
Upon returning to the United States, he tried to duplicate the Middle Eastern food dip he tasted while overseas.
"People called me Hummus Dumas," he said.
He spent six years trying to get the recipe correct. During the first four years, he would try from memory on occasion before his wife, Dawn, suggested he write down the ratios of ingredients. Two years later, he found what he considers the perfect recipe.
