No new sports programs will be added at Adams Central, at least not within the foreseeable future.
That was the consensus among members of the school’s Board of Education during a discussion Monday.
In June, Kevin Asher, assistant activities director at St. Cecilia High School, approached the board with a proposal to co-op baseball between Adams Central, St. Cecilia and possibly Hastings High for the upcoming season.
The school district then conducted a student survey to gauge interest regarding the idea of adding baseball in addition to soccer or swimming and also solicited feedback from staff.
“We are always trying to build a more well-rounded student but after looking at staff responses and listening to the public, I think in my mind it’s a no-go,” said board member Chad Trausch.
