Search warrant served on murder suspect’s bunker Friday

GLENVIL — With guns drawn, officers from several law enforcement agencies executed a search warrant Friday afternoon at the concrete bunker that is home to the man charged in the shooting death of a Grand Island attorney.

Michael L. Petersen, 58, was arrested Thursday evening on J Street one mile east of Hastings.

Clay County Sheriff Jeff Franklin said officers from the Buffalo County and Hall County sheriff’s offices, Grand Island and Kearney police departments, Nebraska State Patrol as well as Clay County Sheriff’s Office were on scene at the former U.S. Naval Ammunition Depot bunker that is now part of an industrial park just northeast of Glenvil.
