LINCOLN — The clock could not run fast enough for Randy Findley as the final minutes ticked away on Giltner's 42-26 Class D-2 state championship victory against Humphrey St. Francis Monday at Memorial Stadium.
Findley was the quarterback for the Hornets' only other state championship, in 1984.
His son, Jake, is the quarterback for this year's team.
"I'm just happy for the kids," Randy Findley said. "They worked very hard and put a lot of work into it and it's nice to see it come out that way."
He is one of five 1984 team members to have a son playing for the 2012 Hornets.
