Then: About 60 years ago, radiation therapy was a new form of cancer treatment that had been developed from technology used in the making of the first atomic bombs in World War II.
In 1952, Mary Lanning Healthcare became the first to offer radiation therapy in the area.
Now: Today, Mary Lanning is the longest continuous provider of radiation therapy for cancer treatment between Omaha and Denver. Earlier this month, Mary Lanning held a 60-year anniversary celebration of radiation therapy.
Mary Lanning offers a facility, the Morrison Cancer Center, with the latest technology in radiation therapy.
