Local Eaton plant to increase production

Eaton Corp. announced plans to transfer its gear machining operation in Kearney to its Hastings plant.

The move is slated to begin in mid-2013 and take anywhere from 18 to 24 months.

The 20-25 affected employees in Kearney are being given the option to move to the Hastings facility at 300 E. 39th St.

“We are transferring our gear machining operations to create additional manufacturing space in the Kearney plant to handle the growth we’re seeing in our valve business,” said Jim Michels, business communications manager of the Eaton Vehicle Group in Southfield, Mich.
