Coach fiery after game

Nebraska head coach Bo Pelini reacts to a call in the second
half of the Huskers' 17-38 loss to the University of Iowa
Friday at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln.

LINCOLN — With University of Nebraska-Lincoln Chancellor Harvey Perlman and Athletic Director Shawn Eichorst remaining silent about the future of Nebraska's head football coach, Pelini struck out at the administration, Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz and the media from the post-game podium following a 38-17 loss to Iowa Friday in Lincoln.

Media reports in recent weeks have speculated as to whether Pelini would be fired following an injury-plagued 8-4 season that saw NU close out the season with a disappointing 21-point loss to a team that hadn't beaten Nebraska in Lincoln since 1943.

When Pelini was asked by reporters about whether he had heard from Perlman or Eichorst as to a timeline for what is expected to be an upcoming review of the coach's performance in 2013, Pelini said he hasn't been told. He was also asked whether he believes he made a case to stay at Nebraska with a couple of key wins down the stretch despite mounting injuries and youth on defense.
