The Hastings High volleyball team faced a unique challenge at its own triangular on Thursday.

Before the Tigers' scheduled bout with cross-town rival Adams Central, they had to go up against a Seward club that already had beaten them once this season.

HHS survived a scare against the Bluejays (16-18), dropping a tight first before winning taking the second set in extras en route to a 22-25, 28-26, 25-13 victory. Then the Tigers used vital runs in both sets against the Patriots (11-16) to earn a 25-21, 25-14 sweep.
