KEARNEY — The Minden volleyball team has its fair share of talented attackers, but even they couldn't get the ball to hit the floor Tuesday night.
Kearney Catholic's defense would have frustrated any number of teams with the way it played Tuesday in the C-1, Subdistrict 10 championship game.
The top-seeded Whippets fell in straight sets to the No. 2 seed 25-21, 25-17, 25-17.
"(Kearney Catholic) is the best defensive team in the state, and I wouldn't be surprised if that's all class. They dig everything," said Minden head coach Ed Rowse.
