Battle Creek holds on in finals seconds vs. Sutton

Creek.

BATTLE CREEK — Battle Creek's 14-8 win Wednesday over Sutton wasn't pretty, but then again this wasn't a beauty contest.

A goal-line stand with 26 seconds remaining, led by junior nose guard Louis deJager, preserved the Braves' undefeated season.

The Braves (10-0) will travel to St. Cecilia (8-2), a 13-6 winner Tuesday over Hershey.
Facing fourth-and-goal at the Battle Creek 2-yard line, Sutton's center appeared to snap the ball early after a Brave defender flinched. It seem to surprised Mustang quarterback Cole Wiseman, who received the snap – paused — then attempted to bull his way toward the end zone.
