In contention again

Hastings College's Eric Pryor (7) vies for control of the ball
against Northwestern College's Nate Huyser (4) and Matt
Dowie (2) Saturday night at Lloyd Wilson Field.

The Hastings College men's soccer team is in a familiar position.

After a win on Saturday, the Broncos are in contention for another conference championship and another berth in the NAIA national tournament.

Top-seeded Hastings College beat Northwestern 2-0 in the semifinals of the GPAC tournament Saturday to advance to the championship. In a rematch of last year's title game, the Broncos will play Midland for the GPAC tourney title.

"We didn't perform at the highest level that I wanted us to, but we did what we needed to do to win and move on," said HC head coach Chris Kranjc. "I'm proud of the guys. We may not have played at the highest level, but we had a lot of resilience."
