MONTGOMERY, Ala. — The Hastings College men’s soccer team saw its season come to an end Tuesday at the NAIA national tournament.
The Broncos (16-7) fell 2-1 to Southern Poly (Ga. ). The Hornets (15-5) outshot HC 14-12, including 9-1 in the first half as they built a 2-0 lead going into halftime. HC head coach Chris Kranjc said his team just wasn’t itself in the opening 45 minutes.
“The first half, I thought we played tight. I think we struggled to find a rhythm early in the half, and it kind of came at us,” Kranjc said. “I felt we struggled to go forward a little bit. I mean, we only got one shot off in the first half. I was a little surprised we weren’t getting shots off.”
Jake Essi scored HC's lone goal in the second half.
