Hastings, Nebraska resident, Denise E. (Schneider) Spatz, 54, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2019, at Mary Lanning Healthcare in Hastings.
Rosary is 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, at Butler Volland Chapel and Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Hastings with Father Christopher Kubat officiating. Burial will be held at Parkview Cemetery. Visitation is 1-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with family greeting friends and relatives from 4-6 p.m., and one hour prior to mass at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. Private condolences may be sent to the family at www.lbvfh.com. Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home & Cremation Center is serving the family.
Denise was born September 25, 1964, in Minden, Nebraska to Donald and Eileen (Ryan) Schneider. She grew up in Heartwell, Nebraska and graduated from Minden High School in 1983. Denise received her dental assistant diploma from Central Community College in Hastings and her LPN diploma from Northeast Community College in Norfolk, Nebraska. Denise was employed as a nurse at various nursing homes, clinics, and hospitals in Nebraska and Kansas. She was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church.
Denise was a hard-working mom, dedicated and compassionate nurse, super housekeeper, and was an avid sports fan especially following University of Nebraska and St. Cecilia athletics and the New England Patriots. She had a big heart and loved all her family.
Denise was preceded in death by her father, Donald Schneider; and daughter, Jennifer Spatz.
Survivors include daughters, spouse and family, Brandi and Jason Fitz of Hastings, Caleb and Makenzie, and Alison Spatz of Lincoln; mother and stepfather, Eileen and Bernard Boller of Hastings; siblings and spouses, Dr. Donald and Jet Schneider of State College, Pennsylvania, Jeanne Schneider of Minden, Julie Chilcott of Hastings, John and Patty Schneider of Omaha, Marianne and Bill Sullivan of Imperial, Jennifer and Mark McBride of Kearney, Sheryl and Bob Start of Granger, Iowa, and Tim and Cindy Boller of Linsborg, Kansas; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
