Blue Hill, Nebraska, resident Dolores M. Keenan, 92, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at Mary Lanning Healthcare in Hastings, Nebraska.
Service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 3, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Hill with Pastor Leah Krotz officiating. Burial will be in the Blue Hill Cemetery in Blue Hill. Visitation will be Sunday, February 2, from 1-8 p.m. with family present from 3-5 p.m. at Merten-Butler Mortuary and one hour prior to services at the church. Memorials can be directed to the church. Dolores was born on July 5, 1927 to William H. and Minnie L. (Siebrass) Seeman at Blue Hill. She graduated from Blue Hill High School in 1944. She married Wilfred B. Toepfer on October 1, 1945. He passed away on February 18, 1971. She married Ervin C. Hanich on November 15, 1974 and he passed away on April 2, 1976. She then married Francis Keenan on November 27, 1992 and he passed away on January 21, 2006. Dolores was very passionate about farm life and was deeply devoted to her family. She proudly attended her grandchildren’s activities and brought laughter and joy to those around her. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and the St. Paul Women of The Word.
Dolores is survived by two sons, Gerald (Sue) Toepfer of Blue Hill and Kevin (Lori) Toepfer of Blue Hill; one daughter, Carolyn (Robert) Willicott of Blue Hill; two sisters, LaVona (Winston) Henkel of Campbell and Marilyn (James) Layman of Omaha; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Seeman of Blue Hill and Mary Ann Toepfer of Blue Hill; five stepchildren, Karla (Roos) Miles of Lincoln, Monty Roos of North Platte, Tom (Jacque) Keenan of Henderson, Joe (Jerri) Keenan of Grafton, and Genie (Joel) Nuss of Sutton; 15 grandchildren, Jeff (Amanda) Toepfer, Kerrie (Greg) Catchpool, Amanda Novak, Brad Toepfer, Annette (Doug) Lintz, Aaron Moser, Robbey Willicott, Chrissy (Darwin) Juarez, Corey (Karolina) Willicott, Alyssa (Drew) Prososki, Mackenzie Willicott, Travis (Maddy) Toepfer, Justin Toepfer, Kyle Toepfer, and Britney Toepfer; several great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Dolores is preceded in death by her parents; three husbands; one daughter and son-in-law, Eileen and Wayne Moser; one brother, Melvin Seeman; and two stepsons, John and Patrick Keenan.
