Jade Ryan Schoneberg was born May 10, 1977, in Denver, Colorado, to John and Suzanne (Zimmerman) Schoneberg.
He grew up in the small town of Sutton, Nebraska, and attended Sutton Public Schools.
A cowboy from the start, he knew from an early age what he wanted to do with his life. Trading horses became his passion when he made a profit on his first pony sold at six years old.
For the rest of his life, he would love a good horse, a good horse sale, a good trade and the many lasting friendships made along the way. When not at a horse sale, his favorite place to be was at the barn working with his dad. He also worked in the ag industry, the last five years for Nutrien Ag Solutions.
The hat he was proudest to wear was that of being the best uncle in the whole world to his five nephews, never missing a birthday or holiday that he could spend with them.
He was so good with children and his first comment after being diagnosed with cancer was “Better me than a little kid.” After a gallant yearlong battle with cancer, Jade passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, August 15, 2019, at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. He was 42. Jade was a genuinely good man with a ready smile and will be greatly missed by more than he could imagine.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Earl and Rita Zimmerman and John and Audree Schoneberg.
Those left to grieve his absence are his parents, John and Suzanne Schoneberg of Sutton; brothers, Cameron, wife Emily and son, Cayden of Elmdale, Kansas and Dustin, wife Rochelle and sons, Hadley, Macoy, Reagan and Hayes of Edgar, Nebraska; and his many friends made over the years.
