Maxine “Mickie” Wanda (Cook) Schneider Daum, 95 years, 10 months and 14 days, died Sunday, June 30, 2019, at the Sutton Community Home in Sutton, Nebraska.
In honoring Mickie’s wish to be cremated and to not have a service a private inurnment will be in the Spring Creek Cemetery in Ruskin, Nebraska, at a later date.

Mickie was born Aug. 16, 1923, in Cozad, Nebraska, to Everett and Roxy (McKim) Cook. She attended Cozad Public School. She married Donald Schneider on March 12, 1943. After Donald’s death (1990) she married Robert Daum of Fairfield on Feb. 14, 2001 (deceased 2005).
Mickie was an active member of the Federated Church in Sutton. She enjoyed attending various social groups such as Flower Club, Bridge Club, Ambassador Club traveling group (taking many enjoyable trips) and Post 61 Auxiliary. Mickie made many cherished friendships throughout her life no matter where she was. She felt she was able to make an impact on others as they’d impacted her.
Survivors are her daughter, Susan Overturf (Martin) of Sutton; granddaughters, Nikole Gemar (Steve) of Sutton, Renae Martens (fiancé Michael Mousel) of Oak; and two great-grandchildren, Sydnee and Austin Gemar of Sutton.
Preceded in death are her parents, Roxy and Everett Cook; brother, Burton Cook; and sister, Dr. Ruth I Cook.
