Former Hastings, Nebraska, resident Phyllis J. Erickson, 83, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Harvard Rest Haven in Harvard, Nebraska.
Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 27, at Butler Volland Chapel in Hastings with Pastor Thomas Murray officiating. Burial will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 27, at Friedwall Lutheran Cemetery in Hordville, Nebraska. Visitation is one hour prior to service with family present at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. Private condolences may be sent to the family at www.lbvfh.com. Phyllis was born June 26, 1936, in Oxford, Nebraska to Horace and Lorene (Eggers) Egelston. She graduated from Alma High School and received her bachelor's degree in nursing from Hastings College and Mary Lanning School of Nursing (Creighton University at Mary Lanning Healthcare). Phyllis married Dennis V. Erickson on August 30, 1959, in Alma, Nebraska.
Phyllis worked as a registered nurse for Dr. Weber at Mary Lanning and Hastings Regional Center. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include husband, Dennis Erickson of Harvard; children and spouses, Ron and Gwen Erickson of Juniata, Carol and Steve Anderson of Lincoln, Connie and Mark Murray of Hastings, and Randall and Tawni Erickson of LaVista; grandchildren and spouse, Kayla and Adam Perry of Hastings, Nolan Erickson of Juniata, McKenzie Anderson of Lincoln, Kyle Anderson of Lincoln, Hallie Murray of Hastings, Hannah Erickson of LaVista, and Lindsey Erickson of LaVista; great-grandchildren, Jacob Perry of Hastings, Elise Perry of Hastings, and Norah Perry of Hastings; and sister, Martha Watson of Bellevue.
