Blue hill rescuers eschew special attention



BLUE HILL — One month after they rescued five children from a burning school bus, Ron Meyer and Phil Petr look at the response from the community here as amazing, but distance themselves from any credit given to them — be it from neighbors or a U.S. senator.

"Heroes are people who wear pagers," Meyer said. "We're just average citizens. It was reaction born of panic and fueled by fear. We're just regular citizens."
