Youthful need for speed

Brothers Dalton and Dylan Olsen, 14 and 11, stand with their
dragsters near their family's rural Kenesaw home Sept. 21.
Dalton has been racing at Kearney Raceway Park six years,
Dylan three years.

If there's one thing all of the young drivers who compete in the Kearney Raceway Parkway junior dragsters program have in common it's that they like to go fast.

Mandy Antle of Giltner, mother of 9-year-old Macie Antle, remembers when her daughter learned that lesson. She was about 3 years old and had a small three-wheeler with a screw throttle to prevent it from going too fast.

"She'd get on the other side of the house and it'd sound like it stopped and here she'd come flying around because she worked the screw out of it," Mandy said. "She's always been into anything motorized."
