Adam Story talks to Mayor Vern Powers during a meet and greet
following his interview to become police chief Monday at the
Hastings City Council Chambers. Story is a captain at the
Hastings Police Department.
When he’s not helping hunt bad guys, Adam Story of Hastings enjoys spending time with his wife, Melissa, and two young children. They enjoy traveling, skiing, gardening, board games and a variety of other activities through school, church and the community.
When he’s not with his family, Story serves on the boards of various organizations. He said being involved in the community helps build relationships.
“It’s nice to be able to give back to different organizations and help,” he said.
Story, 39, is a captain with the Hastings Police Department. He has spent his entire career at the agency and now hopes to serve as police chief. He is among four candidates vying to fill the vacant position.
