'E-Z Keno' first electronic game in the state

Mike Nevrivy, owner of Hastings Keno Inc., talks Thursday
about the "EZ Keno Kisok" that was installed earlier this week
at HK Sports Bar and Grill.

In the form of a colorful, talking kiosk and with a computer database to rival most ATMs, the game of keno has entered the digital age.

"We're still using the crayons and paper tickets, but now we also have a great technological option," said Mike Nevrivy, owner of Hastings Keno Inc. and one of the pioneers of the "E-Z Keno" electronic kiosk that premiered at HK Sports Bar & Grill Friday.

The digital version of the game is what Nevrivy calls an "upgrade, not a replacement," of the keno game that has been in Nebraska sports bars and restaurants since 1991. HK Sports Bar & Grill, 1216 W. J St., is the first restaurant in the state to offer an electronic keno game.
