The Adams County Board of Supervisors has spent the past several months making sure that the gamble was going to be a smart one.
They sat down with property owners and heard from business and tourism advocates. They secured the means to borrow money and took construciton bids.
And finally, this afternoon, they rolled the dice.
A $2.8 million truck route in North Hastings will be constructed before August 1 of next year, thanks to the board's go-ahead.
"It's a great project, and I'll be glad to see it completed. It is time," said Chuck Neumann, chairman of the board.
