Plastic found in beef at Thayer Central

HEBRON — A small piece of plastic was found in meat used to make Philly steak sandwiches for lunch Tuesday at Thayer Central.

Superintendent Drew Harris said Thursday afternoon one of the lunch servers found a small, plastic shard in the serving tray. Harris estimated the plastic was probably less than a quarter of an inch long and very narrow.

"When we found that, we immediately stopped serving lunch at that point," he said.
