Sixth man charged in child prostitution case
A sixth man has been charged in connection with the case of an Upland woman accused of hiring out her 14- and 7-year-old daughters for sex.
Zachary Schmidt, 26, of North Platte, is charged in Buffalo County with first-degree sexual assault of a child.
He was charged in the case Oct. 5. His preliminary hearing was scheduled for Monday and was continued to Nov. 2.
Five other men have been arrested in connection with the case: Brian McCarthy, 33, of Lincoln; Alexander C. Rahe, 29, of Omaha; Shad A. Chandler, 41, of Lincoln; Donald Grafe, 38, of Monroe; and Logan Roepke, 22, of McCook.
