Dunham's Sports opened today at 3000 Osborne Drive East.
Hastings now has its own full-line sporting goods store.
The first Dunham’s Sports in Nebraska opened its doors this morning in the old Walmart building at 3000 Osborne Drive East, sharing the building with Tractor Supply Co.
Dunham’s has 150 stores in 15 states.
Store Manager, Galen Quick, cut the ribbon at 9 a.m. before eager shoppers went in to explore the new store. Quick said he is proud to introduce the store to the Hastings community and to Nebraska as the store is the first Dunham’s in the state.
Dunham’s features a section for everyone: golf, hunting, home exercise equipment and local gear brandishing local high school logos on Nike Dri-Fit products. There are even departments for space heaters and bulk ammunition.
Jeremy Rogers, Dunham’s district manager, said Hastings is a good fit for the company.
“Hastings is the type of market we like to go into,” Rogers said. “We can bring a sports-minded community something that isn’t here. It is really the size of cities that we like to go into.”
