Dressed as a frog, nine-month-old Hudson Cambron plays with
Abel, a pit bull rottweiler mix, during Howl-O-Ween at Hoeger
Hall Tuesday night at Good Samaritan Village in Hastings.
Both dressed in ballerina outfits with matching tutus, Carli Johnson, 16, and her 5-year-old Wheaten terrier named Misty met with Good Samaritan Society-Hastings residents.
Carli and Misty were among a group of 4-H dog club members who attended the Howl-o-ween event Tuesday evening at Hoeger Hall.
“It was fun dressing up your dogs and seeing what other people came up with,” Carli said.
Carli said it was the first time she and her dog dressed in costumes for Halloween and she enjoyed taking time to visit the elderly.
“It’s fun to see their faces and brighten their day,” she said.
It was the first year that the 4-H group had been invited to bring their dogs for the event. In the past, the show only featured animals brought in by Good Samaritan staff or residents.
Each pet sported a costume and some owners also dressed up. There were pumpkins, a princess, a baby with a pacifier, skeleton and more.
