We are a little more than halfway through the high school football season, and we’ve already seen our share of surprises in Tribland. Whether it be unexpected teams going undefeated, exceptional individual performances or even shocking upsets, it’s been an exciting year thus far.
One of those surprise teams is in the middle of a unique transition. Silver Lake is in its first year competing in six-man football, and the Mustangs have made the adjustment exceptionally well.
Silver Lake is 5-0 this year.
“I really didn’t (expect to be 5-0). We were just going to take it one game at a time and build off of what we’re doing,” Silver Lake coach Duane Arntt said. “The kids have decided they’re liking the success and they want to continue to have success and they’re working really hard.”
