Invitational Thursday night at Chapman Gymnasium.
After picking up three wins in Tuesday’s opening matches at the St. Cecilia volleyball invite, the host Hawkettes kept the strong play going Thursday.

Class C-2 No. 3 St. Cecilia (15-5) swept matches against Silver Lake (8-5) 25-19, 25-9 and C-2 No. 4 Superior (16-3) 25-17, 25-18 to finish first.

“For the most part, we’re happy. We started out sluggish tonight,” said St. Cecilia head coach Alan VanCura, whose team didn’t drop a single game in its five matches. “Overall, when you play five matches in three nights, I’m happy with what we did. We tried some things differently and we played some good teams here, so I was happy with the way our kids performed.”
