midget football championship Sunday afternoon at Lloyd

Last season, the Big G Jets were just one point away from reaching the Hastings Midget Football championship game.

This year, points weren't hard to come by.

And it showed on Sunday, as the Jets captured a perfect season with a 38-13 championship victory over the Pepsi Chargers at Hastings College's Lloyd Wilson Stadium.

The Jets' offense was the force its been all season, finishing with 433 total yards of offense.

"We spread the ball around quite a bit — we've got a lot of kids who can carry the football and they do a good job," said Jets head coach Jesse Gwennap.
