Patriots rush past Crusaders

GRAND ISLAND — The Adams Central offense was clicking on all cylinders in the first half at Memorial Stadium in Grand Island on Friday evening. The Patriots built a commanding 24-0 halftime lead and claimed the district crown with a 38-14 victory over the Grand Island Central Catholic Crusaders.

"Our kids definitely knew what this game meant and that it was the district championship," Adams Central coach Bill Carlin said. "That was a goal of ours at the beginning of the season and we just had to come out tonight and control what we could."
