DONIPHAN — The Doniphan-Trumbull football team is known for its high octane offense, but on Friday, it demonstrated a more physical style of play.

The Cardinals' defense smothered the St. Cecilia offense and the offense pounded the ball on the ground en route to a 14-3 win, claiming the district title.

"It's the same stuff we've been talking about throughout the year — when our kids get into a tough spot, they respond well," said Doniphan-Trumbull head coach Brent Breckner.
