Tigers can't overcome mistakes

Hastings High's Brendon Menke tackles Lexington's Giovanny
Rodriguez (23) in the third quarter Friday night at Lloyd
Wilson Field in Hastings.

Big mistakes loomed large against Hastings High Friday night as the Tigers fell to Lexington 28-7 at Lloyd Wilson Field.

Blocked punts, fumbles, mental miscues and too many penalties created the Tigers' doom.

The Minutemen took advantage of the erring Tigers, scoring 21 second-half points to lift their record to 4-4 while HHS fell to 1-7. Hastings wraps up its season next week at home against Holdrege.

"We are going to see what we are made of this coming week," said Hastings coach Erik Emerson.
