Hastings High head coach Scott Rosno knew that she could run. He saw it in middle school.
But up until this fall, Kaitlyn Pawloski spent her time on the volleyball court for the Tigers.
It was a difficult decision, but the switch to running is paying off for the Hastings High senior. She led the girls cross country team all season, and — in her first only season — is its lone qualifier for the Class B state cross country meet set for 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Kearney Country Club.
“It was a tough decision to make, but I’m really glad I tried cross country,” Pawloski said. “I’m a little nervous, but I’ve run there and, hopefully, it will be a little better this time.”
