Trust is a big thing for Hastings College volleyball head coach Matt Buttermore.
The first-year coach has a lot of trust in his offense. Senior Kirsten Nickel is managing the game. Senior setter Haley Beardsley — the Great Plains Athletic Conference leader in assists per set — is a versatile and reliable passer. Junior Shayna Schacher is an imposing middle. Sophomores Katie Zoucha and Jessica Osterhaus are on the come.
But the face of the NAIA No. 6 Broncos team this year just might be senior outside hitter Kendra Schwein.
The four-year starter has a total of 1,526 kills for her career.
